Fake Order And Medal Booklets

A fake entry for Order of the October Revolution in this Order Booklet. Hand-writing is consistent with some late Soviet sloppy entries, but this is one of the highest serial numbers for this Order ever observed, and it certainly could not have been awarded in 1981. Only the first entry is original.

Two scans of the same fake Order Booklet. The only original entry is the Order of the Red Star. Fake entries were made with diluted ink to make them look old. Photo is not original either. Note the highly irregular use of a military unit seal and a new looking ink. In fact this photo was stolen from Soviet military archives and when removed had the original officer's name written on the back.

An original award booklet with fake entry for Admiral Nakhimov Medal. The ink stamp for Nakhimov Medal is fake, and is a little crude. They also added the following hand-written text: "2) Has the right since 02/07/1945" - yeap, that's what it says!

Strange order's booklet & faked entries

Gentlemen,

I need your help. 7 years ago I bought a set of 2 extraordinary beautiful Motherland 2c & 3c, who come along with the usual booklet and faked (?) entries (traded from some military headquarters, who also have the booklets, as Dr. Herfurth told me - a very common habit).

The s/n-numbers:

2c - 2,213
3c - 128,584

both rather high and the 2c with perfect gold-coating.

The booklet has the number: 946,167 was issued at the 4th of august 1985, shows the signature of Gorbacev as president (1985 !!!!), it is only one booklet for both awards (entries by hand and ink) and has space on 2 pages for 8 entries.

The recipient should have been Ivan Alekseevic Antipow (has nothing to do with the 3 airforce bearers of the name Antipow) and he should have got 3c in 1985 and 2c in 1988

These 2 pages look like the picture I attached, but with 8 lines, instead of 4.

My questions:

a) What is this for a strange kind of booklet, from the number it should be a type 7, is this a type 8 or a special type for soldiers to enlist all their orders in one booklet????

b) Are the whole entries in the booklet fakes (Dr. Herfurth thinks so)?

c) Is it easily possible to check, if I. A. Antipow really received 2 Motherland with these s/n-numbers?

Many thanks for your help.

Best regards

Christian Zulus

Alexei's Motherland 2c

Alexei,

it seems that the award booklet - with authentic entries - for your Motherland 2c might be rather similar to mine.

How many lines for entries and which signature does your booklet have?

Here is a jpg of the documents of Alexei's fantastic group: Motherland 2c + 3c & Red Star.

Best regards

Christian

Christian,

I think the main question here is about your S to M 2nd class. I really don't like them in mint condition with perfect gold plating.

As for the documents, could you please post detailed scans of them, including covers, name pages, and inside pages.

One of my booklets (with two awards) is Variation 4 with 10 lines for award entries, and the other is Variation 5 with 4 lines.

Alexei

Has anyone a "Type 8" booklet?

Alexei,

thanks for the informations, but are there any scans of a "Type 8" booklet with the Gorbacev signature as I properbly might have?

The only explaination, that my OK wouldn't have faked entries, is that the original booklets or booklet had been ruined (maybe this Antipow spilled red wine over the OK or lost the OK completly drunken at a toilet, might happen, why not) and his Military Command gave him a brand new "Type 8" booklet with just the old entries - weird theory?

But Dr. Herfurth and I think, that the entries are fakes.

Best regards

Christian

Christian,

I agree with Alexei that you should post the pictures of your documents, so we all know what are we talking about.

It's very difficult to discuss something without seeing it.
