Order Of Korean Labour.
Hi!
Does anyone know how many types there are of this order? I have seen three so far. Screwback (type one I guess?) horizontal Pinback, same design and looks like it is cast and gilted pinback, new star design I haven't found much information about North Korean orders and medals. Only know one webpage. Thanks /Erik |

Hi, Dear Erik
Yes, that is 2 types and 3 variation T1V1, soviet made screw back T1V2, pin back The type above is characterized with one female farmer and one male worker. But interesting, they are like Slavian, as my aviator. T2, pin back star and banner It is true that there is little reference about North Korea orders and medals. I will help all who are interested in NK orders and medals. Tang Si Last edited by reichsrommel; 02-05-2007 at 11:14 AM. |

For the moment I'm interested in finding a T1V2 Labor order since I don't think I will ever be able to get a T1V1. Maybe the T1V2 orders aren't that much sheaper?
In that case I will be content with a T2 :) . A numbered National flag 1st class and Soldier,s honor order 2nd class are also on my list. I haven't seen any numbered soldier's honor orders and think I read on another forum that they were not numbered, is this correct? For the moment I only have 3 orders in my small collection (which I think I bought from You if I remember correctly). They are the ones which got me interested in continuing collecting. I have a few early medals on the way too. /Erik |

Order Of Korean Labour.
The Korean Labour Order (조선로력훈장) was founded on 17th July 1951 (The same day as the Hero Of Labour) and the first 3 types had a rather Soviet design featuring a male and female worker underneath a red banner inscribed "Labour" and within a cogwheel and wreath of wheat. These earlier types were numbered. The later types have a more Korean styling and were probably changed in design at the same time as or just after the 1972 constitution. Types 1 and 2 are screwback.
Here is a very early Type 3 Korean Labour Order, constructed of plated copper and numbered in the 6250-6299 range.

Re: Order Of Korean Labour Guide.
Here is Type 4 Variation 1. The design was completely changed to reflect a more Korean and less "Russian" influence. Although there was a line for a serial number they were not numbered. All the "Korean" design Korean Labour Orders are copper.

Re: Order Of Korean Labour Guide.
Here is Type 4 Variation 2. This variation has a smaller font on the reverse.

Re: Order Of Korean Labour Guide.
Here is Type 4 Variation 3. This variation is almost identical to the previous variation except the line for the serial number is elongated.
