The enemy tanks were firing upon the battery emplacement. However, senior tractor mechanic Guards Senior Sergeant Volkoboi moved a tractor to the emplacement and pulled the battery to safety without regard for the heavy shelling from the enemy tanks. Comrade Volkoboi saved the howitzer battery equipment, which was being fired upon by the tanks advancing right up to the battery emplacement. During the previous battles Senior Sergeant of the Guard always acted timely in any situation in order to move battery pieces, often risking his life under the enemy fire.
