Does anyone know how many of these medals were made at the Leningrad Mint? I have seen some examples of them with LMD mint marks on them, but this has been certainly the minority.

Hello, Mondvor states the presence of the LMD mintmark on the front side of the loop ring is the majority rule, but the mintmark can be on the side, or ever absent, "sometimes" following the doc.

A 12th May 1978 awarded example to Viktor Nestorovich Shapakidze (Виктор Несторович Шапакидзе) from the Ordzhonikidze Region of Tbilisi. Unfortunately no other information on the recipient is forthcoming.

Here is another example to Captain Vladimir Komissarovich Avanesov from Shaumjan Regional Military Commissar on 23rd February 1978.

A "Komissarovich" from an area named after the leader of the 26th Baku Commissars.

I recently picked up a vast lot of 1965-95 Medal documents for pennies each (5-10 cents) and I will slowly be posting them as time allows. The market is currently so poor that most Jubilee Medal documents aren't worth the postage unless buying in bulk. It's just a shame they are all from split groups. Each one is a piece of a bigger story.

Komissarovich was awarded a Red Star for his part in the liberation of Ukraine and later an OPWI'85.

This well worn example wouldn't even get a second look from most collectors but the fact it was awarded to (Civilian) Employee Of The Soviet Army Beneion Surielovich Megrelishvili of the 388th Garrison Station Of Technical Supply Of Automobiles on 22nd March 1978 is far more appealing. Awards to active civilians of Army Jubilee Medals are far less common than the veteran or serving military awarded examples.

Here is an example issued to Ivan Artemovich Karpets by the Slavjansk Military Commissar on 15th February 1980.

This example was issued to Vardkes Artemovich Eritsjan in July 1979 by the Deputy Minister Of Internal Affairs Of The Armenian SSR.
The rubber stamp reads "Department Of Cadre Of The MVD Armenian SSR".
