Polish - French group
This group indicates that the Soldier served in France during WWII. Most likely with the Air Force because of the Air Force Medal for War.
The Polish Orders and medals are. Order of Virtuti Militari, “Gold” Merit cross Order of Polonia Restituta, Officer class. Cross of Merit, First Class with Swords Cross of Merit, Second Class with Swords Cross of Valour, exile issue (Reversed ribbon colours) Air Force Medal for War 1939-1945 (Medal Lotniczy za Wojne 1939-1945) The French Medals are: French Volunteer Medal WWII Two unofficial French veteran’s Medals in bronze and enamel. Note the last one has crossed British and French flags. Maybe someone has an idea what they are? Eddie.

Eddie,
1st medal : "Croix du Combattant Volontaire - 1939-1945", (French Volunteer Medal WWII). 2nd medal : "Médaille de l'Oeuvre des Vieux Militaires - 1900", a French Veterans association. 3rd medal : "Croix d'Honneur Franco-Britannique" (Franco-British Association), another Veterans Association. It is an "Croix d'Officier" (Officer's cross), type 2. Ch. |

Christophe,
thanks for the identification ;) I was wondering, do you see many combined medal groups with Polish and French awards or are they rare? Maybe you have some pics of other groups that would be of interest. Eddie.

Eddie,
Sorry, but as far as now, I've not seen a lot of these groups. For the pics, I have to check, but I'm not sure I have a lot of these groups in my database. Ch. |
