Olympic badge
Hello,
bought this badge yesterday on a military trade fair. If I remember right, the badge was given in the 60´s and 70´s to soviet participants (sportlers) of the olympic games in a bunch to make promotion with them. What is the current value of such a badge? best regards and thanks Andreas |

Re: Olympic badge
The bigger question is why is there a mint mark on one and not the other? Moreover, what mint mark is that?

Re: Olympic badge
Perhaps a production variant? Maybe they were produced over a longer time period. Here is also a different badge and document.

Re: Olympic badge
Yes, these were indeed produced for many years. They were first produced for the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, and remained in production up until 1991 (actually, they did prepare some for the 1992 winter Olympics, but by then, the Mother country no longer existed).
By the way, they were the official Soviet team member badge, hence the ID, and the fairly high availability. Marc |
