No offense to you Americans, but if an American didn't die it is not news in the USA. Which is a shame.

Here in Canada it has been on the front pages of our newspapers and in the news every hour, first story of the news for several days already, even before the massacre.

Being married to a Russian and having lived in Russia myself, my heart bleeds for the children of Beslan an the pain and horror those poor people have gone through and will continue to go through for many years. I feel this attack is even worse than 9/11 as it attacked our children, the most innocent of all victims, there little lives had barley begun.

I think we should all take a moment to think of those lost lives. :-(

I got the lynching and nurse stories from Bulgarian news coverage of the event. Suprisingly it was pretty good.

The President of North Osetiya has just sent the entire Government of the Republic into resignation. He decided to stay, though.

Here's the pic of the Preseident giving speach on the rally in the capital of the Republic. Note giant Order of October Revolution right above him.

Does anoyne know whether North Osetiya was ever decorated with any awards?

William,

The Republic of Northern Ossetia was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the October Revolution and the Order of Friendship of People. Here is a general view of the Presidential Palace in Vladikavkaz. The orders are above the balconies.

With respect, Fox News has to be one of the worst news channels for news coverage ever. I personally work for he BBC News Online website and not wishing to blow my own trumpet as it were but the BBC site is the best for news coverage and has covered this tragic event extremely well.
