Badge "Abraham Matveevich Temnik High-School 1989".

This is the first one of it's kind I've seen. The seller doesn't know much about it and I was curious to see if anyone can help.

And the back. We (the seller and I) are both curious about the HSU indicator on the top. Is that to say the person who the school is named after was an HSU awardee? It also appears that it is a woman's name, no?

Thank you. I was pretty sure about that part. :chuckle I guess I should phrase my questions better. What type of school was this? Is this the Soviet equivalent of a senior class ring? Or, is it more (or less) prestigious than something that simple?:confused: I've never seen one like this which is a cheaply made pinback except ones for sale. The seller did cut out portions of the back when he photographed it, so I can't say. The only things I have that is even similar to this is from a Marxism-Leninism school/academy in Tumen and another pin from a Latvian "НУ" (People's University?) and both have prices stamped on the backs. I have a fairly good understanding of the badges of the higher educational institutions, but not the others. It is probably something insignificant, but I am curious nonetheless.:D

As mentioned by previous posters, this is a graduating student badge (class of 1989) from the Abraham Matveevich Temnik high-school, in the village Chernigovka.

As you guessed, Temnik was HSU. Here is a link to his bio.
