Re: Mystery "N2" Red Banner

OK. What is the earliest use of a "D" or some other designation of "dublikat"?

Mid-1930's as far as I can tell.

Re: Mystery "N2" Red Banner

I can't see the "2" on the back :( I guess it's time for my monitor's yearly cleaning. The piece is clearly genuine, the serial number is not. This engraving style was common for some older fakes.

Would it be possible to see some better pictures.

Alexei

Re: Mystery "N2" Red Banner

Alexei the "N2" is at 12 o'clock on the reverse and much bigger than the serial number.

Re: Mystery "N2" Red Banner

Why not try and research it as a 2nd RB? Costs nothing if it isn't and you may get a super surprise if it is. Sure am interested about this one.

Norm,

It won't help. This SN was issued both as a single and as a second award. Research won't permit to ascertain anything with respect to genuineness of the piece.

Now it's very likely I'm missing something here, bust isn't the premise that because the same award had two different serial numbers it has to have been issued twice? What if after the first serial number was applied the piece got detoured and never made it out of the factory?:)
