Anti-communist camo?

I bought this uni off of ebay , I have been told it is from an anti communist group , does anyone have any information about what group and why they would use a camo oversuit ?
FYI , the guy that sold the suit did not mention anything to me about the insignia , nor did he mention anything in the auction about it , he only said it came from his fathers collection who had passed away and he was selling said collection off , so I dont think it was someone trying to fake it or I would think they would have played it up in the auction to get more money due to the rarity of the piece .

Hi and welcome to the forum..I am sure one of our members, probably from Russia, can help answer your question on this post-Soviet nationalist group.

Re: Anti-communist camo?

Well, I don't know how "anti-communist" it is - the lower date seems to be 1794-1945 and the communists were firmly in control 1918-1945... The top reads "Russian Empire" in old-style, pre-Revolution letters.

The inverted tri-color chevron was a Russian Civil War chevron worn by anti-Red forces if memory serves me correctly.

I´m sure of having seen the same black patch on ultranationalist orthodox groups. I´ll look for the reference.

Re: Anti-communist camo?

Desantnik: You are absolutely correct about the chevrons.
Those are the style worn by the counter-revolutionary forces fighting for the Tsar. :)

Perhaps it is a very anti-communist dembel uniform?

Re: Anti-communist camo?

the uniform on its own aside from the badges, what is it?

it looks like a digital kinda camo , witch only came in to use in the west the end of the 90's.

so it would definitely be after soviet ain't it ?

Re: Anti-communist camo?

The Uniform is the standard 2 piece KLMK which was introduced around 1975, it is Soviet era , that is what makes this interesting , are and were these groups active in the 1980's and 90's ??

I was told the ultra nationalists would remove the date on purpose to show the Empire was still alive and well !

The date on the patch is machine cut , not hand removed , so the patch was made that way on purpose , the patch is of some kind of vinyl material , the chevron is cloth .

"Digital" camo came in use in the red army in the forties!

Re: Anti-communist camo?

This pattern and cut was introduced around 1975 , I have a question for our Russian friends , Did these kind of groups gain in popularity or grow in numbers during the Afghan war ??

Re: Anti-communist camo?

that is nearly 60 years later !!!

How stunning.
