Merchant Marine Fisheries cap

Hi:
This is only my cap from my collection of marine civil. He was eager to have it because it reminds me of the "Gran Regata Columbus 92", held in Cadiz (Spain) to commemorate the fifth centenary of the discovery of America.
It brought together 210 sailboats. Were present the following boats belonging to the Soviet Union:
- MIR (winner of the race and unreachable for others)
- Sedov
- Kruzhentern
- Khersones
- Pallada
- Tovarishch II

These boats were the most espectación resulted in visitors.
I attached a picture of some sailors, wearing a cap similar to that added to my collection.

That is a very nice hat! :thumbsup I've never seen a cap badge for the Merchant Marine before, these must be pretty tough to find.

Are 'Merchant Marine' and 'State Fisheries' two distinct branches / agencies? Two separate uniforms, or the same? Soviet Trawlers off the east coast of the USA were ever-present during the cold war, even made the news now and then. Not sure how much actual fishing they all did, but there were protests by some New England fisherman about the Soviet large capacity trawlers in the 1970’s.

DougD, I do not know exactly if they were different units
merchant marine and fishing state. Specifically, this hat is an emblem of cadet school merchant, in this case study schools and on ships. The emblem of merchant seamen was different: an anchor in an oval gold frame on black background (a photo copy and bring to the forum).

Does the modern Russia have their own version of this or have they done away with this style of cap and badge?

Hi:

If the style and logo of the merchant marine caps seem to have not changed significantly since 1991. I am sending you three pictures. The first officers of the vessel is fishing Kruzhenstern school and the second is of a sailor's ship MIR. You'll see that the caps are very similar to those of the naval forces. We also attached a picture taken by me of a sailor (not a cadet) of Kruzhenstern (made in 1992). With dl with respect to the uniform clothes, the sailors seem very similar to those of the naval forces and officers, adopt the clothing merchant.
