Order "For Service To The Motherland In The Armed Forces Of The PMR".
Full title is "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces." This is a rather high decoration in the military award order of precedence. Notice the similarities to the Soviet "crab".

Re: Transnistrian Order For Service to the Motherland
Well, it seems these are no longer made by the MMD and, predictably, the quality has gone down. Still a nice heavy, multi-piece award, but the enamel leaves alot to be desired. Except for the bronze (3rd Class) award, who's star is still fairly red, the 1st and 2nd Class stars have taken a decidedly "sanguine" (brownish) hue.

Maybe the worker's blood has started to go stale? I wouldn't care if these were pink or green or any other colour I'd still hoard them all!

Re: Transnistrian Order For Service to the Motherland
Just like most things from the Soviet era, the quality has dropped off - particularly the enamel, but I'm still amazed at the fact that they stuck to the Soviet style central medallion and some of the symbols. On that score, it is still a collectible piece in my opinion.

Re: Transnistrian Order For Service to the Motherland
Collectible... yeah, without a doubt, and I'm glad I was able to get this. Hoard... not likely with my wallet- still a bit on the expensive side of things. BUT, when you consider that the MMD version of the 3rd Class is going for over $400 on Molotuk, maybe this was not THAT expensive.

Re: Order "For Service To The Motherland"
Here's a third class doc. A fellow forum member found out the recipient was a colonel via an internet search from the information provided.

Giving away the secrets!
This is #166 of the 200 production run of the 3rd Class at the Moscow Mint. A FIVE piece construction. Note the mint mark just below the top (12 o'clock) ray.

The Moscow Mint produced Order weighs 41.7 grams and the screwplate 14.6 grams.
Here is a post-2010 production 2nd Class #003! Notice that the screwplates are made from recycled 20th anniversary Medals (which helps date it).
