Soviet Support Badge.
I'm not sure what this is. But I believe that it is suposed to attached to the button hole of a jacket. Other than that... your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps it's just a pin to show that you are a good party member?

Kim,
I've never seen anything like this before, but I do not believe it's a Soviet manufacture. Alexei |

Maybe from another communist country?

Yes, there are many things that speak against this being Soviet. First I got it in Sweden, second the way the hamer is designed. On all the cap badges I have there are none that have a piece of the handle sticking out.
But I found it with some other Soviet badges and some Brittish. So to narrow it down: Soviet union, UK or Sweden. Perhaps an English "we support the Soviet people" badge from the war. This guess is probably as good as any. PS Thanks for the input! /Kim |

Kim,
I agree with you. I thought, that the H&S was a little strange, the enamel was a bit on the cheap side, and the attachment device was certainly not Soviet. Still the badge is unmistakably old and a very interesting piece of history. Congrats! Alexei |

Soviet or not, I thought 20sek (about 2$) was a good deal. I would do it again. :D
Cheap enamel is common on the early, very pointy, kind of soviet cap badges. I have yet to see one of those with intact enamel. I have two, one with no trace of enamel and one with just a tiny bit of enamel. Perhaps I should start a thread about cap badges... It's a jungle but pretty interesting. Will try to put something together later this week. /Kim |

Re: Soviet Support badge
I wouldn't be surprised if this Badge was of English production and dating from the mid 1940's. There are many British Badges of the time that are very similar in construction and quality, often made for more "leftist" organisations.
I think we are looking at more of a "solidarity" type item than lend-lease.

Re: Soviet Support badge
It's nice to have that reinforced. Very much the same sort of production as http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...tml#post216874 Most likely made by the same factory (although the NUR wasn't that Stalinist).
Certainly not Swedish in origin (they were too busy making Nordens Frihet Badges).

Re: Soviet Support badge
Wow. Almost 11 years later more answers. That's not bad and says something about the quality of this forum. Thank you gentlemen!
But I wouldn't say that the badge-makers were busy with the support Finland badges. They had plenty of time to produce something like this.... /Kim |
