Can this "boiled canvas" mean bleached? I mean - many years ago it was a way to make material white and on a picture, the cadet is wearing white gimnastiorka, while the one from the previous one has a khaki one (described as "cotton").

I had to keep the original names of the NCO's ranks, since translating it would cause even more chaos then they do now.
Also, some things here were difficult to translate, so I will probably have to port some photographs when I'm don with this book.
Still working on that %#&*@ material used for suvorov cadets uniforms

Anyway, part III, general ruleson wearing military uniforms will most likely be here on friday.

After some consultations, it appears that this is a bleached material - and it seems to be that, since on a picture, a suvorov cadet is wearing white gimnastiorka without pockets.

The translation of the next part will most likely be tommorrow, but now - a little appendix to the previous part, since I have been told that some words are unclear, so:
1st pic - "sailor shirt"
2nd pic - "flannel shirt"
3rd pic - removable sailor's collar for flannel shirt.
Flannel shirt was worn on sailor shirt or directly on striped shirt. In first case, the collar of sailor shirt was worn over flannel shirt, while in second caseflannel shirt was worn with the removable collar.
