Admiral Yumashev
Just got in a neat uniform; M1945 "Victory Parade" uniform of Admiral Yumashev. He seems to have deviated from regs a bit in the collar embroidery.
All the buttons on the left side are removable; usually its just the second button down. Yumashev was head of the Pacific Fleet in WWII, then head of the Navy for a bit in the late 1940's. in a preview of the uniform book, here is how Yumashev looks as we completed him. Admiral Of The Fleet Uniforms
This one is available from a dealer in the US, from which I have purchased several very nice items. However, this uniform looks very odd. The buttons seem to go far too long "upwards" on the tunic.
/Patrik Note the small hole on the first pic just above the ribbons. Traces of a Hero of USSR star? Last edited by CtahhR; 09-17-2013 at 01:25 PM. |

avoid it...
other than for a dress up costume, its just a parts uniform, not even done right.

Wouldn't buy it even for that, it looks so odd. Seems the vertical spaces between the buttons are uneven as well.

Buttons
I have gone back over the Soviet admirals' uniforms all the way to 1945. Those buttons are definitely wrong, spread out all over the jacket. I am trying to find a navy that had such a configuration but am not having much luck with the whites.
I think that it was home made and they just didn't even get close. I wouldn't display that one because it is not, in some fairly significant ways, "representative." Instinct on the buttons was absolutely correct. Dr. Bob |

As you can see with the attached pic, this document is one of these uniforms ALWAYS, at every moment, on sale on web sites.
I would recommand the greatest prudence. Be careful !! Ch. |

To be honest - that company (you surely know it) is quite good in making their items good looking on photos, probably using Photoshop or any similar program. The uniforms look lovely. Way expensive though. As with most of my questions, it is just of curiousity, not "about to buy"-iness.

their stuff is certainly nice, but not soviet nor historic...
the white parade tunic has never had embroidery on lapels...
