In combat with German Invaders during the offensive operation in breaking the fortification on the river Southern Bug showed the high qualities of valour and courage. In conditions without roads he skilfully organised marches and crossings across rivers of his battery, tanks and infantry constantly remaining in combat formations, timely and ably being able to deploy into combat positions. Powerfully and effectively battery fire on enemy support points and fire points contributing to the successful crossing of the river by our units and successful offensive. His battery destroyed up to a platoon of submachineguns, three enemy machinegun points, captured seven Germans and scattered up to a battalion of infantry.

Twice during the march he bravely repulsed surprise attacks from enemy submachinegunner inflicting losses on them and timely arrival of the battery at the defensive positions. For the period of offensive combat loses of machines and manpower didn't have.

Here are two pictures of the recipient, who died on 11th June 1990.

They came with an interesting story about how during the Battle Of Kursk, he found himself in a trench with a young nurse (who had lied about her age to sign up at 15) during bombardment. He threw himself over her to protect her and they ended up married and serving together until 1946.
