Railway personnel had dark blue uniforms. That is by the way clearly visible on your picture.

Not so fast. Blue and black can easily be mistaken because of the light effects.
You can see at the right part of the picture where the shade makes impossible to tell the uniform is blue if the light at the left of it didn´t shine.

Then it is probably very dark blue and not black. My apologies.

Re: Diplomatic Uniforms and Insignia

Here's Molotov in his diplomatic uniform. Kind of an uncommon sight, as he preferred the bureaucrat look. Maybe this is from the '45 Victory Parade.

Also here's Molotov and that scoundrel Vyshinsky, arriving in Yalta for the allies' conference.

That picture from May 28 1946 and Molotov was wearing his uniform if protocol required.

Re: Diplomatic Uniforms and Insignia

Many thanks to all of those who provided the large amount of information on the "other" black uniforms.:thumbsup

Still, nothing in the Soviet dress wardrobe - even marshal parade uniforms - comes close to the beauty of a parade diplomatic corps uniform, IMO.:) They have the class of military uniforms with the style of a well-tailored suit.
