Admiral tunic with airforce boards

The uniform seen in the picture is currently offered.
Did admiral uniforms with airforce boards actually exist or are the falsely placed here?

Edit: The cuffrings are red, while the stripes on the trousers are also airforce- blue.

Re: Admiral tunic with airforce boards

Yes, there were generals in the VMF. They were mainly for e.g. Naval Infantry, Coastal artillery and, as here, Naval Air Force.

Theoretically, they should not have the rank insignia on their cuffs and the typical general's stripeson their black naval pants, but not all the generals followed that rule.

Re: Admiral tunic with airforce boards

On the cuffs there is a typical land forces insignia. I assume this is correct.

Re: Admiral tunic with airforce boards

I received an airforce/land forces general's belt with it. Did naval aviation generals wear these or did the wear admiral's belts?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Admiral tunic with airforce boards

there should be admiral's parade belt, not the ground/air forces general's one. Especially that Navy generals were issued a parade dagger, just as admirals, so the belt should have the dagger hangers, which af/gf generals' belt normally didn't

Re: Admiral tunic with airforce boards

Thanks.
I have an admiral's belt in stock with dagger hangers, so I'll exchange it.
