General Jacket 1969
Is this a general jacket m 1969?
The yellow laces seem not to belong to the jacket? regards Andreas |

jacket
Stay away. The cords have been added, the ribbons have been added ( twice!) and I would bet the boards are added as well; its a bad overall set. DD

IMO: Cords are from "Kitchen & Stuff" or any other home decor place.

this is going to be a very stupid question/comment i think, but it comes in two parts 1. were generals/admirals ever demobilized? 2. if they were, cords like these could be related to a demobilization uniform (much like in lower ranks)? maybe? who knows, just a thought or even, instead of demobilization, it could be a type of retirement decoration as well i am not contesting that the uniform is faked (it is), but what i am doing is theorizing if one could find a real uniform with this type of add on, would it be possible? maybe not. thanks for anyone's thoughts and./or comments Marc

generals
generals would go into the reserve, i do not think they really demob'd like EMs nor i have i ever heard of a generals demob uniform. Though I think your way of thinking was in line with what the 'makers' of this uniform thought; make it as fancy as possible. DD

Doug,
Correct me if I am wrong, but this looks like a fantasy or foreign cord, isn't it? I've seen some fancy cords on Dembel uniforms, but not as sophisticated as this one. Alexei |

cord
I agree, it might just be a made up cord added to the uniform. -dd

Yes, that's it: "dembel" uniform with many "improvements" attached to it.

Just a quick remark, here. I agree that all the parts do not belong together, but it seems to me that the jacket itself, and the boards themselves, are genuine.
In my opinion, it is a genuine M69 General's parade jacket which was "pepped up" with a fancy cord and ribbons (which, incidentally, were never worn on this type of uniform). Take the cord and the ribbons away, and you have a decent general's parade jacket. Marc |
