I know the seller sells a lot of fake/fantasy items. I bought this one (it has a different, correct size suspension) and it is of the highest quality - original in my judgment.

However - is it Soviet or current Russian medal?

If a medal original it is Russia. Academy of military sciences (АВН) — the Russian nongovernmental research organization. Spends fundamental and applied researches on problems of defense. Creation of the organization is approved on February, 20th, 1995 by the decree of the president of Russia

I don't think the suspension is original. The brass is different and the size seems out of proportion to the medal in the pictures. What does the reverse look like?

That's what I wrote. My medal has different suspension, like the one that is common on space medals, or state prizes. I would appreciate information on the meal itself, should one has.

"Yesterday, February 17, 2009, in the concert hall of the Cultural Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Frunze held every year (the eighth), a ceremony of awarding the All-Russian Literary Prize Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, the establishment of the Military-art studio writers of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
