Merit Medal Of The German Post.
Verdienstmedaille der Deutschen Post (Medal for Merit in German Postal Service) (1970) Awarded in Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Medal of Merit of the Deutsche Post was a State award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), instituted on November 19th, 1970. The first award ceremony took place on labour day May 1st, 1971. The Medal, which was awarded only to individuals and not collectives, was awarded for outstanding achievements in the development of the Socialist post and telecommunications branch. Furthermore also for achievements in ensuring the permanent operational readiness of telecommunications equipment, etc. The maximum number of this Medal awarded each year was limited to: 50 times in gold, 100 times in Silver (from 1986 150 Awards) and 300 times in bronze
