I like that LSD trip happening behind Zukhov, grooovy..
Sure is unusual.. In looking at that again..is that some sort of psychedilia stylized battle plan? notice all the arrows which may indicate troop movement?

I wonder if there were standards that had to be used when marking battle plans on maps. There is always such a huge pool of red from which fingers of advances move against the enemy positions on Soviet maps. I have rarely seen maps which show a modest Soviet formation moving against a larger enemy position--it is always this huge blob of red moving against a smaller enemy position.

I forgot to mention - the rug is quite expensive - the seller on eBay put an opening bid of $599

Gentlemen,
I am not so sure this is an "original Russian rug from the 1970s". Looks very much like one of those modern souvenirs for western tourists. I guess I am just been my usual skeptical self. Alexei |

Sure is some nice detail in those awards..although I don't think I could stomach the dizzying design for very long on my wall...
