I think one may be a marksmanship badge made of brass with lacquer paint.

Here is another Afghan badge. Very cool design. Writing in Dari and Pashto with reference to newspaper. Note how the pen is in the place of a AK-47 bayonet.

"The pen is mightier than the sword." ...well not really in Afghanistan...
