Is this the cruiser Aurora?
Would this photo taken in 1992 be of the cruiser Aurora? My coworker seems to remember taking it in St-Petersburg.

Picture of the cruiser Aurora
Here are two pictures of the cruiser Aurora. I think it could be the Aurora.
And here is the second picture http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=3504 |

She is the Aurora.
Look at the attached pic (with the same location and buildings, by the way). Ch. |

I agree with Christophe. I subsequently found a picture and that's the Aurora. Apparently I remembered a quaint Young Pioneer ceremony on board more than the external appearance of the ship. In 1989 I saw a group of ceremony for a group of pioneers where they received their orange hats and scarves and took some kind of oath.
EDIT: I meant to saw "red" as opposed to "orange". I've been caught up in all the political activity in Ukraine. Last edited by desantnik; 12-05-2004 at 09:50 AM. |

Thanks to all. Is she a museum today? Still at anchor at the same place?

yes, the original pic is the Aurora...the photo was taken from the parking lot of the St.petersburg Hotel, I have stayed there many times. You walk over to the Aurora and yes, she is a museum. Its not always easy to get on though. I know Admiral Lev Chernavin who runs the museum ( hon.); I have had dinner with him twice on board the Aurora and have to say that each was a highlight of my life. Its a great place to visit.
