Deputy Of The Supreme Soviet Of The Estonian SSR Badges.

I would gather for all of us infos about this possibility...
this monday I've been proposed from Kiiv four deputies documents. Looks OK in terms of wear, smells of glue and old simili-leather.
but do you have gentlemen seen fakes?

I've observed some constants in what I think good docs:
azerbaidjan/armenia in the 50'60' use real photos glued and real stamps, black ink;
old 40 and 50' russian docs same tech;
baltic states since 60' use like "scanned" photos and stamps besides a plastic sheet;
modern docs of the 70' do use this technique.

do you know more precisely the printing techniques to create the booklets?

this one came with a very suspicious badge.

so I'm not very peaceminded (??)...

with a friend we were a bit dubious about the "scanned" photo...but I later saw the same technique on others docs of the same period (60ies and later).

the "filigrans" (right?) are perfect

what worries me is the perfect condition of the leather and gold lettering...

so...fake or not? (even genuine, if it is sold with a fake badge, its value is by far greater , isn't it?).

thanks, sebastien

Sebastien,

I haven't seen any fakes yet. Could you post pictures of those?

Charlet,

The document looks Ok to me, but just in case, could you please post a very magnified scan (say 2400dpi) of a small section of the background.

Charlet,

The background design on fake documents is often blurred. I think your's is genuine.

Supreme Soviet Member Of The Estonian SSR.

Hi all, sometimes you get lucky when searching the net, I just bought this.
a badge and card from Estonian member of the supreme soviet. (hopefully it isn't a fake...) It is complete with a etui ?, haven´t seen that before , and some newspaper clip about the nomination.

These are the sellers pics , I will post better ones as soon as I get the
package

And here is it in the box ?

Christer,

The document looks nice, signatures of Rüütel and Vaht compare with others that I have seen. Rüütel is president of Estonia again now, his signature is rare on Estonian SSR documents. I know there are lots of fakes of this badge, I will interested to see what the experts say about the scan.

Hi gentlemen, I 'm going to freeze the ambiance, but I'd like to see a close picture of the badge. The scan gives it darker than normal: in fact, I've a fake of this estionian badge, very nice quality fake, and there are 2 main tips about this: red enamel, too dark, carmine red instead of beautiful crimsom red; still about the enamel, it hasn't been polished mecanicaly by the mint, it forms like waves at the joining of metal parts. On a genuine, the enamels are perfectly flat, like a mirror.
The gold plating on the reverse is often patined on genuine pieces, on my fake, it is too preserved. I just begun to be experimented at the time I bought it, and I had a warning bell...I have'nt been paranoid enough this time.
I don't buy anything coming from Baltic states, except from reputable dealers engaging their knowledge...
