Guards Unit Badges
Here´s what I have.
A DPRK guards badge, made of copper, pinback version. There is a blank space at the reverse for a serial number.

I have examples in both pin-back and screw back. At this point in time I have yet to see a photograph of a guards badge being worn, but I'm sure that there must be some out there someplace. |

That´s one badge I´ve never seen being worn. I´ve searched extensively for KPA pictures and recent ones only depict enlisted soldiers with the badge of the 3 revolutions. Looks quite common to have it, especially by those who guard the DMZ or the border with China.

A picture of a Guards Badge on a Guard's chest is what I'm thinking. I was looking for a picture of this when I stumbled across something else. I still didn't find a picture of the badge being worn.

North Korea Guards Unit Badges
These are the badges that have been designated as the insignia worn by DPRK "Guards" units in one of the recent reference books, one in pin back, the other a screw back.
Yet I've never seen a photo of one of these in wear, and you would think that "Guards" units would be a feature of the never-ending parade formations in Pyongyang. So...? |

I´ve never seen them neither. From all the Panmunjon pictures and parade videos I´ve watched (and keep watching), I still don´t see one of these being worn.
Here´s mine, with a heavy patina, made of copper.
