Brendan,

It was issued to Smorodin, Aleksei Denisovich on31/12/1939.
The other 2 IDs are indeed NKVD
I believe that all 3 documents are fakes :thumbsdown

In this case, the 2 NKVD IDs are basically brand spanking new. These IDs were used on a daily basis by the holder, to enter his workplace, prove his entitlements, etc. As such, originals are always worn; fakers try to add "fake wear", but they have not found (yet!) the right formula to give the appearance of years of daily use.

Now, if you have a look at the various threads in which some of these were shown, you'll notice similarities: printing characteristics, fonts used, handwriting, color of ink (there is a difference between originally faded ink, and modern ink that was diluted to appear old), etc.

Here is a genuine Hasan document for comparison purposes. Overall, I have handled a grand total of 4 genuine ones; they are rare as hen's teeth. Play "Spot the differences" :D

Re: Lake Hasan Document?

I have to say Marc that handling the Hasan Doc and looking at the example of yours I cannot see anything that sticks out as being 'fake'. The wear is the same, type face, ink appears faded as with time etc. I also have 6 pics of the awardee that concur with his booklet pic.

Your thoughts on the other two documents??

Brndan,

I already gave you my thoughts on all 3 documents: :thumbsdown

RE the Hasan one, pay close attention to the typeface in the word Udostaverenie for starters; look at the underprint, etc.

Marc

I notice subtle differences and being a printer by trade I can attribute those differences to the printing process and the stages that each document was printed.

I am not saying that is not a fake, but some others may want to chime in. The jury is still out;)

I completely agree. BTW, the ink stamp with the funny snowflake in stead of a star on the Hasan document, can also be found on many other fake IDs.
