The Order of Military Merit is awarded to members of the security forces of the Republic of Macedonia.To military officers for outstanding achievements in organizing and commanding the armed forces during war and peace, in building and strengthening the defense capability of the Republic of Macedonia, in the command and management of the security forces and military units facilities or activities that contribute to a successful and effective defense of the independence, security and territorial integrity of the Republic.

For particular bravery or meritorious actions of policemen, soldiers, officers, police units and military units,staffs, commands and institutions of which the example and skill in managing the unit or facility conditions for achieving extremely good success and results, police and military properties that serve as an example to other officers and soldiers as well as civilians serving in the armed forces of the Republic of Macedonia to achieve particular outcomes of importance to the defense of the Republic.

Military and police units and institutions carring out multi successful operations and achievements of exceptional results in the development and strengthening of the security forces and the armed forces in the Republic of Macedonia.

Members of foreign armed forces for outstanding contributions to the successful implementation and promotion of relations and cooperation between the armed forces of their country and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Order is made ​​of silver, gilded with hot enamel.
On the reverse are the award number, mark of purity of the metal from which it is made and the manufacturer's mark.
