what do you think about this field gimnasterka?
Looks a little bit "strange" to me. Artillery collar tabs and the holes for shoulder boards in the jacket and a kind of belts at the end of the sleeves to reduce the size. regards and thanks Andreas Last edited by CtahhR; 04-17-2014 at 08:16 AM. |

Check the date on the buttons, but I would guess it's gimnastiorka for hot climates from 50's-60's with m35 collar tabs (probably original or m43 for overcoat) attached.
ok, the tabs are definately m43 for wintercoat - the trace suggests that there was a button in place of artillery insignia. The triangles may be original - they ar surely not WOChR ones. Last edited by CtahhR; 04-17-2014 at 08:17 AM. |

Good eye on the tabs
I was trying to figure out the background behind the artillery device. You are right, of course, that there were buttons there, probably for a long time which is why they are not as faded. Now if under the triangles are just as faded as the rest of the tab, that means the sergeant pips went on as the buttons came off. I suspect that is the case.
A lot of work...maybe worth it for a reenactor piece. |

I hate to be outbid
But sometimes they are doing us a favor. Unless the winning bid was exceptionally low, I think this time you did well to lose this one.
