Medal bar, OK or put together?

Hope someone can help me with this one. I have had this one some time now and always wondered if it 100% OK. Sure, research would give a definite answer but speculation is all I want to do now. No paper work at all for this one.

Is this combination probable? What I mean is: should he have an other medal or perhaps some of them are unlikly. All the ribbons are recycled from the single ribbon bar.

Notice the first ORB that have been a screw back once. Military Merit has no serial number.

Kim,

Is it possible to see a nice pic of the first RB?

Thanks!

Rusty.

No problems with more photos. I am not getting along with my scanner at the moment, clearly seen in the photos. These are from my digital camera.

The ORB started its existance as a normal suspended one. Later the owner had it reworked into a screw back and then back into a suspended one.

Kim,

There seems to be some mix up in the order the medals are hung, I believe. The long service should be at the end, not before the Victory over Germany.

Why don't you research it and find out for sure if it's legit or not?

Look at all the medals together and see if they have a similar amount of wear. If a campaign medal looks pristine and two or three others are all beat up, it's usually a sign that the set is "assembled" by someone other than the original owner. Of course, the pristine one COULD have been awarded much later, but I'm speaking in generalities.
I find it unusual that the recipient decided to convert one RB, but not the other. The converted one has a high SN, 201.XXX - not like it was originally a screwback and converted to suspension for uniformity, then reconverted to go back on the suspension. If he converted one, why didn't he do both? There were a handful of units who hit both Berlin and Prague (3 and 4 Gd Tank Armies if I remember correctly) so it is a possibility.

Thanks for all the replies!

Marc: Yes the order is wrong. That is one reason to doubt this one. But it could be an old veteran putting together his medals for easy-wear on 9 May. Then he did not care for order and put his last/latest medal in front of the campaign medals. Speculation, of course but who knows...

Dave: Yes, research would cast a new light on this subject. But my collecting budget is not that big at the moment. So if I choose to have some of my medals researched this "group" would be far down the list.

Desantnik: The wear is about the same for all the campaign medals, a bit less on the 30yoRA and MM. All the medals also have traces of white polish on them. The second ORB have a significantly higher number: 532 230. So he did not have them at the same time.

Adding a picture of a Hero that have had his orders reworked.
