Re: Łukasz Trusz
10.&11.An early 1947 Polo-Soviet Friendship Society membership boklet with membership fee payment confirmations done in a very messy way. Seems that he joined the society in August 1947 and was a mamber untill at least july 1949 (probably much longer)
12.Document for the Cavalier's Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order, dated 1987. Not sur what he got it for - not a "retirement award" - he was probably long since retired then and didn't work anywhere long enough after 1945. Could be for his general WW2 good conduct or for his merits as an activist of any organisation (like ZBoWiD). |

Re: Łukasz Trusz
13.&14.An employee ID of the Polish Grain Company, giving his post as Industrial Guard. He apparently worked there since at least 1958 (maybe earlier) until 1960.
For unknown reason he is compleately bold in the picture - a date is far to late forit to be done for hygienic reasons and he looks younger than 55 (he looks younger than on his ww2 fotographs actually), so it's probably some earlier photograph that was used for this ID. Re: Łukasz Trusz
And here are two letters from ZBoWiD to him, calling him to show up fora meeting. In the later one, from 1973, he is asked to present a written account on his wartime deeds as well as the award documents, which suggests that he has left some memoires in the ZBoWiD archives - another thing to check when I finally have the money...

Re: Łukasz Trusz
Time has passed (2 years!) but the luck has smiled upon me - more of Trusz's documents showed up. And as usual in such situation it made me almost starve for 2 weeks.
Anyway, let's start with a photograph - shows him as a private (I think) in the 10th Mounted Rifle Regiment before the war. The "gimnasterka" he is wearing is actually a polish uniform shirt adopted in 1920's (can't remember the model designation right now) that was often used as a training uniform. Then there's 1940-dated Education Narkomat certificate of finnishing the course for little-literate. He actually had the education that would make him "very literate", but I assume hewasn't too good at Ukrainian. Got "good" from language and "exceptional" at arythmetics and geography. The document is of course in Ukrainian. Last edited by Al-muell; 03-11-2014 at 03:50 PM. |

Re: Łukasz Trusz
Then we have the obligatory supply document from 1944 - he gave quite alot for someone who has lived in the occupied territory for 3 years: 17 kg of grain, 10kg of meat, 45litters of milk, 29kg of potatoes, 2 cabbages, 1 onion 3 "different fruit".
Probably it were the last days of him as a civilian - soon (summer 1944) the 6th division was formed and he had to put a uniform once again. A birth certificate (in Ukrainian) to his wife, Maria (before marriage Kasprzyk, written phonetically as "Kaspshik"). It used to be attached to the next paper with a paper clip that started to rust. I have removed the clip to avoid further damage, but it is kept with the group. |

Re: Łukasz Trusz
2 1946-dated papers - the filled-in forms (hand-made) to be presented to the population registry office.
The birth certificate was attached to them. It seems that Łukasz Trusz worked as a prison guard again after the WW2. They lived at Rokitiańska street nr5 in Przemyśl at that time. |

Re: Łukasz Trusz
And three more documents ended up in my possesion:
1.1927-dated NCO scool graduation certificate issued by the 10th Mounted Rifle Regiment, hand signed by the regiment commander. Looks like he did moderately - got "sufficient" result, and his result was the 36th out of 52. He was not promoted at that time, but apparently at that time he was already a PFC. He later became a corporal/platoon corporal, but apparently thiss happened later. 2.1947-dated Grunwald Badge doc - very well preserved. 3.1946-dated "For Warsaw" medal doc - same very good condition. |
