Fake "Defence Of" Campaign Medal Documents.

Gentlemen,

Here's a fake temporary document for a Stalingrad medal. The document itself is genuine, but entries are fresh and made in modern hand writting.

The faint, multi-digit stamped serial number is the same as that seen on many fake NKVD IDs. Also note the general NKO stamp. Any doc like this is likely to have a specific unit or city voenkom stamp not the NKO stamp.

Shawn,

Good point. They could very well be from the same shop.

First of all, it is very interesting that they are named "Duplicate" on the top right page.

One way to tell if they are real or copies is to check the front cover. If you can read the writing on the ribbons in the Soviet coat of arms, then it is most likely real. Copies usually blur the letters so much that you can't read them.

Hope this helps...

Marc,

I believe that documents are genuine, but entries are not. I have already seen a bunch of documents with the same Nechiporenko signature and "Duplicate".

The tipped cards are no identification for a copy, I assume
the word rejoinder stands at the top I thinks

Thanks

I suspect this document is like the others I have been seeing lately. The document itself is genuine, the information in it isn't. Same signature that I've been seeing. Am I right?
