Here's a scan of the one with the 6 torches (later issue) and with a pinback and no serial number. Also pictured is the ribbon for the order.

I just purchased this one. It also comes with the case, and I'll post that pic soon.

That one from the NJ dealer clearly has had its screwpost sawn off it seems to me. And the n converted to pinback.

Why on Earth they would do that in the middle of the serial number is still a mystery to me!

I don't think so.

I think the medalion fell of and it was re-attached.

Below is a picture of the screwback piece.

Order of Brotherhood, 2nd cl (5 torches) and Order of Brotherhood, 2nd cl (6 torches)

Note that the number on the early version (5 torches) is much higher than the one on the latest version (6 torches). I don't know why? Maybe they are numbered separately (by type) and not all together.

Yes it's written Z Kovnica, but I don't know what is shown in your last picture?

On my award, we can also clearly see the screwpost hole. Concerning the number, I guess I'll never know the original serial number.

Hi Rusty,
They are the marks to indicate silver content, there is a technical word for this that escapes me at the moment.

So these are assayer marks.

I didn't think the order was silver.
