Parachutist Badge.

Here is a rather late communist period "Parachutist" badge which is still very much in the imperial German style.

Hello,

Here are some photos of a Bulgarian Parachute badge I recently purchased. I've noticed it is quite thick as badges go.....about the thickness of a €1 coin, is this normal? What time period would this be from, 1980's?

It will date from the 1980's, the tail end of the PRB and was probably unissued.

Some (single piece construction) Bulgarian Badges can be very thick sometimes up to and over 5mm thick. It is often difficult to tell from "straight on" pictures but you really know about it when they are in hand.
