Need help on Vcheka visor m-1919

I´ve been offered to buy this cap and I don´t know if it´s real.
Any helpful suggestions?

I have sold 2 cheka caps and both were converted Russian police caps; black with red piping. This hat looks like civilian with early cap badge; does not mean its bad, but i am not sure what makes it cheka.

Doug is correct. A civilian hat with a (possibly genuine ?) M19 style hammer and plow cap badge. If genuine it could be for anyone and is not Cheka official issue.

Those early stars are now being minted steadily in Russia (I have one). I must say that the star pictured does not look anything but brand new. Bog ego znaet where the cap came from. Nothing even typically Russian about it, really. I've seen similar designs in Poland, though.

Might be a good idea to keep looking.
