Hi !

I found information about Putin's awards - he has one soviet order - Badge of Honour and DDR military medal.

Putin was an ordinary intelligencer!! In the USSR were a thousands of agents like Putin. The problem is that he is very sly and used all his relations to make money and to rise very rapidly.

He was awaded by Badge of Honour (non - military award) for his activity in DDR as a member of Soviet German House of Friendship.

Accordind to independent sourses he was involved in many machinations in DDR and Sankt Peterburg.

OK, not Head but I am sure I have heard somewhere that he was high up in the KGB, at least in East Germany.

On 1/21/04, I sent the following question to President Rüütel of Estonia:

Hello,

I have a question for President Rüütel. My question is:

What awards did the President receive from the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic? Did he ever receive a state or ministry award as a Teeneline or Eesrindlane/Eesrindlik? Also, what orders/medals did he receive from the USSR?

and today I got my answer:

regarding your question from January 21st, 2004:
President has been awarded during the Soviet period as follows:
- ENSV Ülemnõukogu Presiidiumi aukiri / The Certificate of Honour of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the ESSR (1958)
- orden "Austuse märk" / The Order of the Badge of Honour (1964)
- Lenini orden / The Order of Lenin (1971)
- ENSV teenelise põllumajandustöötaja märk / The Badge of the Meritorious Agricultural Worker of the ESSR (1976)
- Rahvaste Sõpruse orden / The Order of the Friendship among Peoples (1981)
