Aren´t the M43 uniforms the ones with just a single line of buttons instead of two?

Yes. I have written the wrong thing, I do of course mean M/45. Sorry.

Don´t worry. You made me doubt! ^__^U It´s a beauty, however, but the gold bullion work on the golden leaves of the neck look too shiny. Shouldn´t they be darker since the age?

Tretov,
Difficult to say, but I find the embroidery too "new" compared with the rest of the jacket, and the piping around the collar too. Might it be that VP General's jacket I saw in St Petersburg that was "under repair" at the time (collar and cuff-less to be precise)? :D What is that stuff on the cocarde and some of the embroidery? It looks like it could be some type of artificial toning to me. Marc |

uniform
I know where the uniform originated; its a good set. Its an M1945 VP set though, not M1943.

Wonderful looking tunic and hat; it will be a nice addition to your collection.

It would have been if the person that was the connection between me and the owner had forgotten a "0" in the price he told me.  But, never mind. I am more a cold-war guy, so I am still looking for a MSU parade uniform, M1969 model though. |

Provenance
Tretov,
What's the provenance on this M1945 VP i.e., which MSU is linked to it? While I can make out some holes for orders, I see nothing to suggest he was awarded a HSU/HSUs. Regards, slava1stclass |

Marshal Sokolovsky
One of the reasons I did not buy it when offered to me was that I am pretty sure (90%) that is is Sokolovsky's. It does have an HSU hole (there are more detailed shots; I'll see if i can find them) and has an order hole on the right breast that is very high up, near the shoulderboard really; this would have been for an order on hanger (pre43) which Sokolovsky wore.
I can find no other Marshal who it matches up too, and I did look for awhile before making my decision. If you want one, its very well priced, but part of the low price is that its not, technically speaking, wartime made. I have sold a few of these and the one post war one I sold ( Bulganin) simply did not have the same "power" as the wartime ones. Who owed these high end uniforms really made a difference in value.
