Table Medal "On The 40th Anniversary Of The People's Polish Army 12.X.1983".
Large (9.8cm in diameter) and heavy (0.415kg) table medal, which is most interesting in that it is "personalized" - the recipient's name is given on the reverse.
The text reads: "On the 40th anniversary of the People's Polish Army 12.X.1983 from ZBoWiD Members of the Lublin Region". I don't know how many were made, I know only of two more - one to general Siwicki, the other one to marshal Rola-Żymierski. Since general Kiszczak (who technically was also a war veteran) apparently didn't receive one, I assume they were given only to the veterans of the 1/2nd Polish Army 1943-1945 who had higher ranks/functions in 1983. |
