Short, concrete description of the personal combat feat or merits:


Career Master Sergeant P.A. Potemkin served at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. During the period between June and October 1941 he participated in combat with the 141st Howitzer Artillery Regiment, 55th Rifle Division, Western Front as a clerk.

From October to November 1943 he served with the 841st Rifle Regiment, 1st Ukrainian Front as a squad commander. Serving as squad commander in the 841st Rifle Regiment during the fighting for the town of Kanev on November 1, 1943, he was severely wounded in his right heel, due to which he was in an evacuation hospital in the city of Baku from November 1, 1943 to February 29, 1944.

During the fighting for the motherland he displayed courage and bravery. After the war Master Sergeant P.A. Potemkin continued serving in the Soviet Army cadre, showing himself a responsive and disciplined soldier. He skilfully passes on his combat experience to his subordinates. He possesses good organizational skills.
As a medic he continuously shows concern for maintaining the health of the men.


Conclusion: for distinction in combat, displayed during the Great Patriotic War, he deserves to be awarded the Order of the Red Star.

Fascinating! I've never seen a catch-up/wounds award to a soldier still in the military (and interestingly, not very much advanced in rank).

I think he earned the Distinguished Military Service Medal for service at a "ТРБ" - "Technical Missile Base" :thumbsup Any citation for this one?

You're right for the "ТРБ". Unfortunately, I don't have the citation for this Medal.
