All Other Fake Soviet Medals

Hi,

I purchased recently this Medal for Valiant Labor in GPW. Seems to me a correct Type 3 medal, but some opinions will be appreciated.

Hi,

I purchased a second Valiant Labor in Patriotic War, apparently in better shape than my other. But when it arrived I observed some curious details when compared with the 1st one.

- Seems to me both are from the same model, but second one has more copper apparency than the 1st one.

- The second has a strange moulding fail at left side I don't have see before in others samples on net;

- I don't like so much the manner this ring was closed, but the suspension seems to me the same model used in my 1st sample.

I think it's a cheap medal, but I'd like to have some opinions about it.

It appears fine - the verdigris does not happen right away so if it is a copy, it is an older one. The ripple is not unusual for large production medals - in my limited experience. I would like to see the reverse to check the lettering.

Thank you for your reply. I compared lettering at reverse with my other sample and I don't observed perceptible diferences.

Hello,

I have got another Valiant Labor in WW2 from a small lot of cheap medals I purchased during Xmas holidays, which I would like to submit to your evaluation.
Compared with other medals I have, this one seems extremely worn out, being the Stalin's bust as well as background completely flattened, and the letters on both sides somehow "soften". I still can't believe that such a cheap award can be faked, maybe the recipient was so proud of his shine medals to wipe them daily.

The pebbling is sill there near the letters and in the recessed areas. I would think it's ok, just polished.

This is just my opinion though :)

I have my doubts, the lack of sharpness at the base of the letters, and the overall lack of detail. Signs of casting.
