I just bought my first M1935 armor officers cap, 1941 stamp cap everything is perfect. What is the best way to clean off the dust or is better not too.:thumbsdown

Re: DUST!
Such an old cap, I would be too scared to attempt to clean it.
But either way, sounds like an awesome prize, you should post up some pictures. :) |

Re: DUST!
If it's just dust, or dirt a good brushing, or even a light vacuuming would be in order I'd think. But let's see what Doug or Patrik would do.

Re: DUST!
I do not own such old caps... my collection is postwar and those can usually take a brushing with a soft-soft dust wiper :) I would perhaps use a combination of a soft brush and a vacuum cleaner on a distance.

Re: DUST!
May I ask if the Tank officers visor came from the same source as the 'NKVD Border Troops' tunic?
Look forward to the photos. Last edited by DougD; 01-17-2010 at 05:53 PM. |

Re: DUST!
to dust-off your old caps use a little vacuum cleaner like the ones that you would use to clean your table from crumbs. Obvisouly, I am talking about a one time procedure.. you should not leave your caps "out in the open" where they accumulate dust, but instead design some kind of covering system.
