Re: Interesting Soviet Flag Badge
Thanks, Mark.
So do you mean that this pin was made particularly for the 1952 Summer Olympics games? |

Re: Interesting Soviet Flag Badge
Almed,
This type was created specifically for the 1952 Helsinki Games, but was used for later games until a new design was created. Hence the differences in manufacturing. Marc |

Re: Sport badges
Here's an Olympics badge I picked up. It seems to be of better quality than most stock badges. Does anyone have further information on it?
Thanks! :) Stah |

Re: Sport badges
Stah,
as far as I know every soviet participant of the olympic games got a bunch of them to do promotion. They are from the 60´s? You do not see them very often. Can you post a picture of reverse? regards Andreas Last edited by Alfred; 08-01-2009 at 01:32 PM. |

Re: Sport badges
Andreas,
I haven't received the badge yet, it's gonna be in shipment for two weeks or so. I did some digging on the forum and found this thread: http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...ant-badge.html. The thread has talk about the badge being issued to Olympic team members and them being issued from the 60's on as you said. Can you clarify what you mean about doing promotion with the badges? Lapa (or someone else who knows): was the badge issued to all Olympic team members or just the athletes? Be how it may, it's a beautiful badge; just look at that enamel and the crisp details, especially on the hammer and sickle! |

As far as I know, the sportler got a bunch of it, and the gave these badges to visitors, vips and so on to make promotion. regards Andreas |

Re: Sport badges
This is not promotion badge. It was given to [Soviet] participants and officials of the Olympic games. That’s why U do not see them much on the market.

Re: Olympic Games Participant Badge
Here's one without a mint mark. Looks pretty recent, maybe an 80s manufacture.
