Medal "For Valiant Labour During The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945".
Gentlemen,
I was sorting out a new shipment of medals and have discovered that there are more variations to this Medal then just 1 and 2. Alexei And here's a more detailed scan. Variations are (left to right): 1) Small irregular "U"-shaped loop, part of the medallion; 2) Large slightly irregular round loop, part of the medallion; 3) Round separately attached loop; 4) Small round loop, part of the medallion; 5) Large "U"-shaped loop, part of the medallion; 6) Ugly loop, Umalatova Medal, part of the medallion. Alexei
Actually, first and second loops are of the same variation, just the first one is slightly defective, that happens..., but not to be mistaken for a separate var., otherwise, there are 5 variations of this medal, listed in Musalevsky's 2-x book..., and you're lucky to have all of them in your posession. :D Alex. |

Alex,
No, the first and the second loops are quite different. Here's a better scan: |

Medal lab vic
I was helping my father and mother to sort things out in there Apt. and what I am posting:
1.My mother was working on Munition Plant 1941-1945. She should be awarded medal "For labor during GPW". But she moved back to Gomel after War and did not get that medal. In 1990 I said: get your Medal!". So, she filed request and was given Document for Medal in 1991. But she did not get Medal.Soviet authorities said: we do not have Medal. Only document.(I've purchased Medal for my Mother here, in USA for $4.00). Document dated 1991 for medal 1945 on the first picture. Is it different from original??? 2. In 1985 all veterans of GPW were awarded with made of cheap metal Order of GPW. First, my Father received card, stating, what he will have Order and can have ribbon. He will be notified, when he will have Order(on second pic). On the third pic Card, inviting him to pick up order on Aug, 15,1986.

Medal Meritorious Labor during ww2
Hello
I have got this document together with the medal. It looks an ordinary booklet, and from the general characteristics such as thickness of paper, inks, writing, I would tend to say it is original. Nevertheless it has two peculiarities: 1. The printing (both red and black parts) is so heavy pressed that you can feel the characters on the other side of the document, as they were typewritten. It is difficult to explain it in english, I just hope you can see this effect from the pictures. 2. The stamp is very confused, with no details. It is not even a circle. What do you think? ciao sergio |
