Young Pioneer Guard rank insignia?

Listed on Ebay as Soviet Russia Young Pioneer Guard rank insignia. Description says "Reportedly, these were worn by honor guards at veteran's memorials." Somehow I don't think these have anything to do with the young pioneers

Interesting! I am not sure we have ever had a thread on Young Pioneer uniforms...the insignia above the stripes does sort of look like the Young Pioneer badges, but difficult to see...i am sure one of our Russian members (who might have actually been a Young Pioneer) can help out.

I renamed the thread to try to make it a bit more specific.

I know based on Photos and Handbooks, both leader and Pionners, that I have not seen such a thing in them and have handbooks going back to 58. An american is selling the patches. I do have some idea what pioneer uniforms look like as I have one in my collection. It took years and research to assemble the pieces

Pioneer uniforms varied greatly, even in one period.
I once started a thread about cap that seemed to be North Korean. Now it seems that it is also pioneer stuff. My friend from Ukraine claims that he was in a pioneer group that wore budennovka-like caps, since Semion Mikhailovich was their patron.

I don't know for this rank patches, but pioneer honour guards wore SSh-40 helmets (painted black I think), so it could be. It would be nice to see the thing that is above that stripes.

Hi Guys: Sorry for the very late response but what we have here is a set of M-85 parade sleeve rank for the Soviet Voluntary Fire Defense Association. They are quite scarce, This is only the second set I have heard of for sale. I purchased a set in Moscow about 5 years ago.

I have some patches I think are some sort of Pioneer rank insignia. They are the stripes at the bottom of the case. I have never seen anything else like this on ebay.

I think they may be young pioneers, but I had something similar on a poster showinng badges and patches of the young fire fighters.

Ok I was wrong, here is the poster i was talking about, There are similar stars on pioneer patches from the 80's. I will try to get the illustration from the Pionneer Handbook up in the next few days.

The six patches on top are sports; others are Komsomol voluntary construction units patches.

Would it be possible to get some better pictures of the badges? Most likely they are Pioneer related.
