Patriotic Award Medal.

Here is the Patriotic Award Medal (애국상메달). Constructed from copper with a design featuring the Korean peninsula with a star marking Pyong-Yang, the inscription "애국" (Patriotism) and a sparkling gold ribbon. Other information is as yet unknown.

I believe this is one in wear.

According to a DPRK encyclopedia this was instituted in "Gold" and "Silver" on 23rd January 1982. The above example certainly doesn't have a 1980's feel about it - it is heavy.
