Dear experts (especially Doug),

What do you think of this NKVD Lt-Colonel uniform - supposedly from the 1950s.

Does it look period made or is this modern production?

How much should a set like this sell for?

Thank you,
William

PS: medals don't belong to the uniform.

I would be a bit suspicious. To get a good I idea you would need to actaully handle the uniform as photgraphs can sometimes be misleading. The cap doesn't look too bad but I would like to see the markings on the inside and any signs of wear before I bought it. The same goes for the uniform. Can you get any further photographs? How much are they asking?

The hat is incorrect; the tunic looks OK, but it is not NKVD; MGB by then. The added medals and bad hat would make me stay away from it.

Yeah, Hat looks like a M1958 job, I would like to see the inside of it to see the markings.

Guys,

Thank you so much for the opinions.

Seller's asking $300, with return priviledges.

What exactly is wrong with the hat?

Best regards,
William

Difficult to say without seeing the inside of the cap to determine the year of maufacture and maker. Also, I would like to inspect the buttons for a date of manufacture (if there is one there). It looks like a M1958 cap from the photo which if it was the case, would make mean that the uniform would have been replaced at this time and so the cap does not go with the uniform.
