my Bulgaria encyclopedia, published 1983 in East Germany, has a short paragraph about the actor Ivan Dimov: born 1897, died 1965, schooled as actor at the National Theatre in Sofia where he played many leading rolls between 1922 and 1961. He is also famous for his rolls in movies. (The little country of 8 million people had a movie industry?)

The encyclopedia lists only his Dimitrov Prize, not the Dimitrov Order as it does for other persons. The badge in front of the picture was awarded by the police. I wonder whether that really belongs in the group unless he was rewarded for a special acting roll glamorizing police work.

What's the current price on one of these? I have access to one that was never awarded, but sold by the bank after the fall of the communist regime.

Bulgarian Laureate of Dimitrov Prize 3rd issue € 989, 4th issue €540 are two I found if that helps at all.

The type I am referring to is featured in Frame #8 - Dmitrov prize from apparently the 70's.

Emission and issues (version) are just variations depending on the year they were made.
class speaks for itself
The one you mean I think is the 1st class 1970 issue (emission, version)
The term emission is used by the guys at the well known Bulgarian shop, i think they are the only ones who use it in descriptions.
