That's why I'm continuously impressed by a few of the folks on our forum who can spot replaced/repaired enamel even from the not-so-good photos that are often posted by people like me.:)

Here is an easy way if the decoration in your hand, get a pin and gently stab the enamel. If it's hot it feels like glass, if a cold one it will go trough :cool:

But in most cases Nevsky's fakes are hot enamelled anyway

The only way I can tell enamel has been replaced if there is scratches under it :o

Ph3s,

Scratches under the enamel are not necessarily proof that the enamel was replaced. In many cases, that was the way the die was; this is especially true with the Order of Glory.
