Comrade Zajtsev from the first day of the offensive in a timely manner and uninterruptedly provided the delivery of ammunition to the front area. Regardless of conditions of battle, under enemy fire 22nd February 1945 in combat for the village of Lilienthal he delivered 700 mines to the front area. At the time of enemy counter-attack took active participation, in reflecting the enemy counter-attack. In this battle Comrade Zajtsev destroyed two Germans and one took captive.

For showing boldness, bravery and valour in combat with German invaders, Comrade Zajtsev is worthy of the Governmental award - Order "Red Star"
