Fake honored radio operator?
I'm sure there is another thread about these already, but I can't seem to locate it and I'm running out of play time.;) Something about this is bothering me. The "newness" is acceptable to me, but the color and texture of the metal on the obverse (especially on the laurel wreath and stippled center) just give me a funny vibe. The MMD mint mark looks okay too, but I could only zoom in on the picture from the site so it isn't very clear.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. [Simon, here's a good one for our new badge moderator.:D] Phillip

Re: Fake honored radio operator?
I am not an expert in them, but looks like a late issue to me.

Re: Fake honored radio operator?
Thanks Alexei. By "late issue" I think you mean from the MMD, but not from the early Stalinist era - or is it "late" as in post-Soviet?:)

Re: Fake honored radio operator?
Phillip,
I believe this badge was discontinued only when they discontinued the country, so it looks like a genuine issue to me from a late Soviet period. Alexei |

Re: Fake honored radio operator?
The fake patina on the reverse and especially the screwnut are obviously bad, right?
